Get out and play! Seeing animals up close, taking a walk in the woods, finding interesting leaves and flowers and bugs, playing in the mud or in a stream, climbing trees, looking at clouds, or just running around a local park or the backyard – these are some of the many ways children can experience the wonders of the natural world. This kind of direct experience builds a love and understanding of nature, which in turn builds motivation to protect it.
